Gavin Smith

Gavin Smith

President of Robert Bosch (Australia) Pty. Ltd

Gavin joined Bosch Australia in 1990, and was appointed President of the local subsidiary in October 2011. Since 1997 Gavin has held numerous positions within Bosch’s Automotive Original Equipment business both locally and in Germany. Prior to this date Gavin held a variety of Information Technology Management and Specialist roles with Bosch and other multinationals.

Gavin is a director of the joint venture companies FMP and BSH Home Appliances, as well as a director or chairman for each of the Bosch wholly owned subsidiaries.

Gavin holds a bachelor of commerce degree from the University of Otago, New Zealand and an MBA from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. Gavin is a passionate advocate for road safety improvement.

 

 
Ulrich Mangold

Ulrich Mangold

Vice President Controlling & Finance for Robert Bosch (Australia) Pty. Ltd

Ulrich Mangold joined Bosch in 1997 and held several positions in Germany and the Netherlands before becoming Vice President of Bosch Oceania in January 2013. After 5 years in the Automotive Electronics division, Ulrich became responsible for Finance and Controlling of the Security Systems division in Germany. During this time he successfully managed a number of acquisitions. In 2008, Ulrich moved to the Netherlands as the Vice President of Finance and Controlling for the Business Unit Video Systems.

Ulrich has a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration from the Technical University of Darmstadt.

 

 
Geoff Liersch

Geoff Liersch

Regional President of Automotive Electronics for Robert Bosch (Australia) Pty. Ltd

Geoff is the Regional President for the Automotive Electronics Division in Australia, as well as the Vice President responsible for the Research and Development activities in the Body Electronics area at the Clayton site.

Geoff graduated with a double degree with honors in computer science and communication engineering from La Trobe University in 1992. Geoff started his working career in with Siemens VDO Automotive in Melbourne Australia, and over a 10 year period held various engineering positions before moving into general management.

In 2005 Geoff joined Bosch Australia in the Body Electronic group before being posted overseas to Germany in a global manufacturing co-ordination role. He transferred to China in August of 2009 to start the Body Electronic division in UAES (A Bosch Joint Venture Company) before returning to Australia in April 2012.

Geoff also is a Director of the Society Of Automotive Engineers – Australasia.
